There are just certain names you affiliate certain things with. If you mention “Michael Jordan”, you automatically think of an unbelievable basketball player. If you mention “George Washington”, you are probably referring to the first president of The United States. The name “Amelia Earhart” reminds us of one tough lady flying an airplane with determination. You get the idea. Famous people with God-given talents are easily recognized just because of their name. What about the most famous entity in history? Christmas brings us to a crossroads where we can’t exactly put just one “Name” on its recipient. “God replied to Moses, ‘I Am Who I Am. Say this to the people of Israel: I Am has sent me to you.’” (‭‭Exodus‬ ‭3‬:‭14‬ ‭NLT) Christmas is all about God giving you the greatest gift ever given. He’s giving you “I AM”.

We cannot, with our finite minds, grasp the depth of what our loving Father has done for us. Any and every situation we will ever face on this earth comes with the provision of “I AM”. If you need a Savior, He says, “I AM” that. If you need a friend, He says, “I AM” that. If you find yourself in a situation that you feel you can’t get out of, He says, “I AM THE WAY”. Jesus IS all things to all people. The very world we live in was created by Him. There are no limits to what He can and will do for His children. He has all authority here. “Therefore, God elevated him to the place of highest honor and gave him the name above all other names, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth…” (‭‭Philippians‬ ‭2‬:‭9‬-‭10‬ ‭NLT‬‬) Everything must bow to Jesus! If He is your personal Savior, you have everything you will ever need to make it through this life. This doesn’t mean that life will be easy but it means “I AM” is walking through life with you.

The holiday season has a way of intensifying emotions. If you’re happy, the holidays make days even happier. If you’re struggling and feel like everything is caving in, the season has a way of intensifying those emotions as well. I encourage you to take a moment and just focus on the purest Love you can even fathom. Whatever that looks and feels like to you, I promise, the Love God has bestowed on us at Christmas is so much more! It never has an expiration date. It is yours. It belongs to you because of His Name! Let that get inside of you strongly. “For a child is born to us, a son is given to us. The government will rest on his shoulders. And he will be called: Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” (‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭9‬:‭6‬ ‭NLT‬‬) This, my friends, is just the tip of the iceberg in what we have access to. Nothing in this world can be compared to its Maker! And He wants to be in relationship with us! I cannot fathom such a mystery.

“That night there were shepherds staying in the fields nearby, guarding their flocks of sheep. Suddenly, an angel of the Lord appeared among them, and the radiance of the Lord’s glory surrounded them. They were terrified, but the angel reassured them. ‘Don’t be afraid!’ he said. ‘I bring you good news that will bring great joy to all people. The Savior—yes, the Messiah, the Lord—has been born today in Bethlehem, the city of David!’” (‭‭Luke‬ ‭2‬:‭8‬-‭11‬ ‭NLT‬‬) The angels are still declaring that to you today. Don’t be afraid of anything. “I AM” is with you. He will never leave you alone. This IS Christmas. It’s not just seasonal. It’s THE GIFT that’s guaranteed for your lifetime. Hallelujah to THE NAME!

Allergy season is here. Every year the pollen seems to be worse than the year before. I load up on the nasal sprays, ear drops and the antihistamines. As rough as the season is on my physical senses, things sure look pretty. The sun seems brighter, bees are flying...

I remember growing up riding in the car with my parents. I always wanted the radio on. We didn’t have music playlists on our phones like we do now. We didn’t even have cell phones. If we were fortunate, we had a tape player in our car where we could listen to our...
