I’m a dreamer. I like to imagine a world void of anything bad. I like to imagine how things could be. God has an eternity that awaits His children where sickness, poverty, abuse and anything else you can think of that’s awful does not exist. I look so forward to that. Having said that, if He has you here now, it’s for a reason. He has you on a mission. There are certain people that only you can reach and minister to for Him. He’s The Great Designer. We’re His design and He’s given us desires deep in our souls that line up with His character. He’s created us to subconsciously want whatever is good and perfect in His sight. The problem with us humans is, we live in a flesh driven body. Our “natural” is far from His “Supernatural”.  We tend to want what we want, get what we want and we wanted it ten minutes ago! God is calculated. He has the grand plan already laid out. He’s not in a hurry because He’s not limited to a 24-hour day. He puts desires in us. We have dreams and goals. These are always best achieved when they are worked out perfectly in His timing and with Him in mind.

Obviously, we all want the very best God has for us. Our dreams and desires are not silly. He wants us to have things in life to look forward to. He wants us to be purpose driven people. But it should always be His purposes for us that we aim for. When He puts a dream in your heart, He wants the good things that come from it for you. He’s building your character and faith in the process of attaining the dream. There’s peace that comes from His dreams for you. There are connections with others. There’s a higher purpose. There’s fulfillment. If your dream is to make as much money as you can so you can just have bigger and better, I’m sorry but that’s not a God driven dream. God may want you to make as much money as you can to be a blessing to others as well as yourself. There could be a need that requires financial support in someone else’s life and God wants to use you to meet it. “Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the Lord that will stand.” (‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭19‬:‭21‬ ‭ESV‬‬)

He wants you to dream big! He’s a big God and He can and will do mighty things through ordinary people. But the dreams are so much more fulfilling when God is at the center of them. He gets the glory. Everyone knows it’s Him! We shouldn’t be selfish with our dreams. Life is not just about us. When God is involved, so many aspects of blessings come to everyone included in the process.

Dreams don’t become reality overnight. The seed is planted and then the growing begins. I encourage you to read Joseph’s story in the Bible about his dream. Things actually took a nosedive once he revealed it to his family. “Now Joseph had a dream, and when he told it to his brothers they hated him even more.” ‭‭(Genesis‬ ‭37‬:‭5‬ ‭ESV‬‬) At some point when He was actually in prison, following The Lord I might add, he had to wonder if this was ever going to come to pass. But in the end, God worked it all out to be a blessing to so many. It wasn’t just about Joseph. God used him to reach others. I said all that to say this. Be cautious about who you share your dreams with. Not everyone is going to cheer you on. They may even try to talk you out of it. People don’t always celebrate with you when they don’t understand. Guard your dreams.

“Where there is no vision, the people perish.” (‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭29‬:‭18‬ ‭KJV‬‬) God is saying, “I want you to dream. You’re never too old. It keeps you going. Reach for your goals.”  He is able to make you more into the person He desires for you to be in the process. Your dreams are not just for you. He’s got a plan. He’s involving you because He wired you to want to take part. He needs every individual reaching for what He’s put in them individually. My dreams aren’t your dreams and vice versa. Your gifts may not be mine. That’s all right. God is Lord of it all. The important part is to keep dreaming.

There’s something interesting about midnight. At that very moment, yesterday dies and tomorrow is here. It may not seem like tomorrow because midnight is the darkest hour, humanly speaking, of the day. The void of light causes your hardships to amplify. Your...

Allergy season is here. Every year the pollen seems to be worse than the year before. I load up on the nasal sprays, ear drops and the antihistamines. As rough as the season is on my physical senses, things sure look pretty. The sun seems brighter, bees are flying...
