Fall is finally here! In my life, that means hiking! I love to see the leaves scattered on the trail as the cool wind announces that my favorite season has arrived. I’m like a little kid playing in the woods. There’s so much to see and experience! As I was walking on a trail this past weekend, I couldn’t help but to see God’s handiwork all over the place! I made a comment to Him about how everything was so beautiful and that I could see His fingerprints on literally everything. It was right about then that He showed me what investigators have known and used for years to identify the “culprit” in cases of law. The fingerprint! No two are alike and they are used to identify individuals precisely. This got my mind spinning! God’s fingerprints are undeniable and since we’ve been created in His image – so are ours!

Some things are so clear to the human mind that there’s no need for an investigation. That beautiful day in the woods was clearly an act of God. Nobody could create that scene except for Him! For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see his invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse for not knowing God (‭Romans‬ ‭1‬:‭20‬ NLT). I saw His fingerprints that day. I knew He was responsible for this array of foliage that I was enjoying so much. The rocks, the trees and the wind seemed to all sing in perfect harmony as I walked along exploring. It brought joy and peace to my senses as God was using this journey as a teaching tool.

Then God said, “Let us make human beings in our image, to be like us.” (‭Genesis‬ ‭1‬:‭26‬ NLT) Our fingerprints, like God’s, point directly to us. We are individuals with our own individual stories. God made it that way. No two lives are the same. Yes, we go through similar circumstances to help each other out in time of need, but our lives are unique to us. I can be in a store somewhere and see a shirt that reminds me of “Susie”. It looks just like her taste. I know that because Susie has a certain style about her. That particular shirt fits her style. When we take the time to get to know people, we learn things about them. Everyone is absolutely unique in the way God has made them. I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works, And that my soul knows very well (‭Psalms‬ ‭139‬:‭14‬ NKJV). The Lord’s works are marvelous and we are the pinnacle of His creation!

Don’t ever think you have nothing to offer. You are equipped for exactly what God needs you to do. My giftings may not be your giftings and vice versa but everything in this world is necessary. God caused us to all be different but resembling Him in ways that minister to people on His behalf. Some people are naturally encouraging. Some folks are just plain hilarious and fun to be around. Some seem to have the ability to say just the right thing at just the right time. You get the idea. God chooses to cross our paths with certain people at certain times for His reasons. Again, that’s where we see His undeniable fingerprints in our lives.

So when you’re out traversing your life’s paths, look for ways to bless others. Take the time to notice what God’s doing through other people to bless you. Notice what God is doing everywhere you are, because my friends, He is there. This world is His. The enemy wants your attention focused on everything that is wrong. God wants to lift your head towards Him and cause you to remember what’s right. For “the earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it.” (‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭10‬:‭26‬ NLT) He’s the Victor! He’s on your side. He provides what you need when you need it. He made your individual fingerprint to leave its mark on this world!

A Prepared Table

When I was growing up, I loved Saturday mornings. A lot of the time, I would wake up to the smell of bacon cooking on the stove and biscuits in the oven. My dad loves to make breakfast. He still does. He’s very good at it too! He likes to have fruit, jams and all the...
