Have you ever had one of those days that you just need a “do over”? I mean from the minute you wake up it’s like everything is coming against you! Sometimes it’s not just a day. It’s a season of life. Maybe a loved one is sick. Maybe you’re facing an illness yourself. Then there’s the family issues that you don’t want to deal with that you absolutely have to deal with. Sometimes it seems as if it’s a never ending cycle of mountains to climb and the top is nowhere in sight. I’m sure I’m not just speaking to me. We all, no matter what, have these times. I know God uses these times to grow us up in Him and will eventually bring good out of the situation, but at the time, it just hurts. Nobody likes to hurt. Certain times of our lives seem like impossible situations.

What may “seem” like an impossibility is actually an opportunity for God to show up and show out! He knows what we’re facing. He wants to be intimately involved. We do not go through these hard times alone. The Lord is good, a strong refuge when trouble comes. He is close to those who trust in him (‭Nahum‬ ‭1‬:‭7‬ NLT). That’s the key! Trust Him! We cannot put too much confidence in ourselves or others. People are not designed to carry that kind of weight. That’s why Jesus tells us, “Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.” (‭Matthew‬ ‭11‬:‭29-30‬ NLT) He wants to do the heavy lifting! He has all available resources to work with the situations in our lives while also working in our hearts. This is His plan. He wants us to walk lighter and airier by trusting Him to do what we see as impossible.

In the beginning the Word already existed. The Word was with God, and the Word was God (‭John‬ ‭1‬:‭1‬ NLT). The Word is Jesus! He and the written Word are the same. We get to know Jesus by getting in His Word. Yet it is easier for heaven and earth to pass away than for a single stroke of a letter of the Law to fail and become void (‭Luke‬ ‭16‬:‭17‬ AMP). This is telling us that Jesus, The Word, will not fail! He never loses. He’s already the Victor! So when things start falling apart, Jesus is your lifeline! Get into His Word and find His promises to you that apply to your situation. Instead of staring at a mountain of impossible circumstances, encourage yourself with the Great I AM and His unlimited supply of support and grace! It’s there for the taking!

When we see life through our human lenses, we tend to get anxiety ridden and crumble. It’s too much! Jesus looked at them intently and said, “Humanly speaking, it is impossible. But not with God. Everything is possible with God.” (‭Mark‬ ‭10‬:‭27‬ NLT) Ahh, yes! This is the good news we need to hear and apply to our lives. All things are possible with Him. Only with Him. Not our best ideas and strategies. Jesus. Only Jesus makes a way where there seems to be no way!

What are you facing today that is weighing you down from carrying it uphill 24/7? Is it just too much? If so, Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you (‭1 Peter‬ ‭5‬:‭7‬ NLT). He literally wants to be the burden bearer. He can do so much more with our circumstances than we ever could. This is why He’s God and we’re not! We’re limited. We’ll get tired. Our strength will waver. He never will! God replied to Moses, “I Am Who I Am. Say this to the people of Israel: I Am has sent me to you.” (‭Exodus‬ ‭3‬:‭14‬ NLT) His name is “I Am”! Whatever the need, He says “I AM that”. So, in light of this, I ask you, impossible situation or I’m-possible?

A Prepared Table
