Every time you turn on the tv it seems that there’s a commercial from some company trying to keep you safe from identity theft. They remind us that as long as information about you is out there, there’s a chance that someone will try to steal it. Once they have a certain amount of your information, they are able to make fraudulent charges with your credit card, bank account etc. This is completely sad! The world is certainly not becoming a safer place to live. Those commercials were not on tv when I was a kid. Now, it’s a real threat and unfortunately, has to be addressed.

I looked up the definition of “fraudulent”. It means to obtain something or do by deception. Well, what we have here sounds like a perfect description of the devil himself. Jesus said, “The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life.” (‭‭John‬ ‭10‬:‭10‬ ‭NLT‬‬) Ok. Now we’re getting to the root of this problem. Let’s be clear, the enemy does not want your money. He wants you to ignore the life God has for you. He does not want you to be effective with the gifts God has given you. When you operate in the giftings that God has granted you, you are a total threat to the kingdom of darkness. So he whispers in your ear that “you don’t measure up” in whatever area. “God can’t use you. Remember what you did?” “Everyone else is good. You’re a fraud.” STOP! He is the fraud! He is lying to you, my friend. He is trying to steal your true identity in Christ. The problem for him is, he can’t do this. Your callings from God are already a settled matter. It’s not dependent on our personal performances. He brought us into the world for a specific purpose. Nobody can take that. But, the enemy is deceptive. If he can make you believe his lies, he can paralyze you from moving forward in God’s plans.

The enemy not only tries to persuade us in his deception, but he’s delusional enough to go before Almighty God and try to incriminate us. “For the accuser of our brothers and sisters has been thrown down to earth— the one who accuses them before our God day and night.” (‭‭Revelation‬ ‭12‬:‭10‬ ‭NLT‬‬) Is he that crazy? Does he not realize that Jesus has already solidified our right standing with Himself when we accepted Him as our Savior? “Who then will condemn us? No one—for Christ Jesus died for us and was raised to life for us, and he is sitting in the place of honor at God’s right hand, pleading for us.” (‭‭Romans‬ ‭8‬:‭34‬ ‭NLT‬‬) This is crystal clear! No one will condemn us. Jesus is pleading for us! Who do you think wins this battle? Yes – Jesus has already won the war and secured our victory. But, we still live on this side of Heaven. We’re in enemy territory. Don’t be caught off guard when he comes at you with his lies and accusations.

I was once a victim of identity theft with a checking account. It made me so mad! People taking my money that I worked for and calling it their own did not sit well with me. We should get that angry with the devil trying to steal good things that Jesus, Himself, has given us. For instance, our families. He’s wreaking havoc in households and we’ve been given authority over him through Jesus. We need to speak truth over the lies he’s putting in our heads and our family’s. He’s trying to steal our peace. He has no right to that. Peace belongs to us because Jesus is Lord. Jesus said, “I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.” (‭‭John‬ ‭14‬:‭27‬ ‭NLT)‬‬ The enemy knows what Jesus has done for us but will try desperately to talk us out of it. Don’t let it happen. The anecdote is God’s Truth. The Truth of God’s Word trumps every lie of the enemy every time!

I encourage you in whatever situation you’re currently dealing with, find God’s Truth in His Word pertaining to this matter. He has something written for you to stand on. This, my friends, is solid ground. Don’t let the devil steal any more of your time, peace or identity. What God has given you is done. It cannot be taken. Don’t let a liar convince you that it can. Yes, he will come with the fraudulent charges, but what Jesus says to you and about you is The Truth.

I’m going to be honest. This year has rocked my world. I’m probably the oldest, ultimate daddy’s girl there is. He has just always had a way of handling me with my quirky personality that a lot of people just don’t. He’s always brought a sense of “calm” to all of my...
