Brookes Vaughan,
Founder & WHNP-BC
Brookes is the Founder of Woco and a Board Certified Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner with a decade of experience in Women’s Healthcare. Brookes received her undergraduate degree in Public Health from UGA and her graduate degree as a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner from Vanderbilt University.
Brookes began her career working at one of the largest OB/GYN practices in the Charlotte-metro area of Charlotte, NC where she gained ample experience serving women of all ages. However, she never felt that she was able to truly best serve her patients and get to the root cause of their concerns during a short, 15-minute visit. She always dreamed of a practice were she could spend ample time with her patients without being dictated by insurance companies in terms of time spent with patients and the labs/testing that needed to be ordered. She also firmly believes in the power of education and feels that when women are educated on their health, they become empowered to really begin healing and making sustainable changes that will not only impact themselves, but also their families for the better. The Women’s Health Company was born out of her desire to both provide the best quality of care to patients as well as spend time connecting with and educating them properly on their health and wellness as a whole.
Brookes is also a lover of Jesus, the Georgia Dawgs, dirty spiced chai lattes, and creating healthy renditions of her favorite Southern comfort foods. She lives outside of Athens, GA with her husband, Schuyler, their two kiddos, and golden retriever.
