We live in a real world that requires so much of our resources. I’m not just talking money. That’s part of it but not its entirety. We have commitments that take our time. We have people in our lives that pull on us emotionally. We do things that require us to be physically up to the challenge. The list of resources it takes to live life is inexhaustible. I recently read an article that described Jesus’ righteousness being credited to our account. That started to get my wheels spinning. Just like we have to go to the bank and make withdrawals in the natural, we also have to in the spiritual. Another way to say it is we get to! Unlike our worldly accounts, our access to our spiritual account is 24/7 and is always full! It’s not just a financial thing either. We can get fueled up emotionally, physically, spiritually – you name it! The account is full and we have access to it because we belong to The King!

Whatever is good and perfect is a gift coming down to us from God our Father, who created all the lights in the heavens (‭James‬ ‭1‬:‭17‬ NLT). He already has available to us anything we could ever need. Heaven is our forever home. We’re just passing through the earth. While we are here, we have work to do. We have lives to reach with the good news of Jesus. We’re only going to be able to function properly by partaking of His resources. He will fund every project He asks you to complete. Heavenly currency is different from worldly currency. It never depreciates and never expires. It’s always the right amount and always right on time! It could be an encouraging word for someone. It could be the skill set to help a neighbor build a fence. It literally could be giving someone a ride to the grocery store. Whatever God’s asking you to do, He will make a way.

When going through personal trials in life, sometimes things look scary. The enemy starts whispering to you about failure. Fear tries to hold you captive in your own mind. Look up! Withdraw from your heavenly account. For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind (‭II Timothy‬ ‭1‬:‭7‬ NKJV). So we’ve got power to overcome. We’ve got the love of God showered on us and we can go through whatever the trial may be with soundness of mind. All we have to do is look to our Heavenly Father and make a withdrawal from His endless supply of resources. Nothing on this earth can bring you that kind of peace. It’s just not available.

Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus (‭Philippians‬ ‭4‬:‭6-7‬ NLT). Aren’t you thrilled to have access to this account? God’s resources are unique. They are meant to bring His children joy and security while we’re on this side of Heaven. If you were sending your child on a trip to another country, you would make sure they had full access to everything that was your’s to ensure their safety. How much more will Jesus make sure that His children have everything we need? If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will the heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!” (‭Luke‬ ‭11‬:‭13‬ ESV) The Holy Spirit of God will lead, guide and direct you in the path God has for you. So, the next time you find yourself coming up completely empty in an area, remember what you have access to in the spiritual realm. The devil will try to divert your attention away from this but don’t give him a foothold. You have total access to a heavenly account that never runs dry.

A Prepared Table
